How to List for Best Results
- ☠Lead with what it is. Title should tell a buyer or swapper exactly what they're looking at — "Lightning Season Tickets, Upper Bowl" beats "tickets."
- ☠Say what you want. Cash price, trade for a specific thing, or open to offers — state it plainly. Uncertainty kills deals.
- ☠Give the story. Condition, how long you've had it, why you're parting with it — small details build trust on a swap board.
- ☠Pick a Tampa-area spot. General neighborhood is enough — South Tampa, Channelside, Ybor, Seminole Heights, downtown.
- ☠Good photos help. If you've got them, mention it in the description and we'll add them to the listing card.
- ☠Keep it local and real. Tampa Piratest is a Tampa board. Items should be local to the bay area and honestly described.
Good Candidates for the Board
Sports tickets, Gasparilla costumes and event gear, boating and fishing equipment, collectibles and memorabilia, outdoor and event gear — things people near Tampa actually buy, sell, and trade. If you're not sure, list it anyway and we'll figure it out.
Barter With a Point of View
Selling is easy — swap is where this board gets interesting. Here's how to offer a trade and close one.
Find What You Want
Browse listings marked "Open to Swap" or "Sell or Swap." Those are the folks ready to trade.
Make the Offer
Email the listing owner through the Contact or Offer to Swap button. Say what you've got and what you want.
Work the Deal
Agree on what's moving both ways, set a pickup time and place, and close it. Tampa Piratest stays out of the deal.
Report It
Once it's done, let us know so we can mark the listing closed. Keeps the board honest for the next person.
Swap Etiquette
Be clear about what you're offering
Don't make people guess. List the item, the condition, and what you'd accept in return.
Make real offers, not "what will you give?"
"Come swap" without a counter-offer wastes everyone's time. Say what you've got.
Pickup is on you
Agree on a place and time that works for both people. Tampa Piratest doesn't handle the exchange.
Close the loop
When the swap is done, tell us so we can mark the listing closed and keep the board current.
Cash Sales On This Board
Not everything needs to be a trade. Listings marked "For Sale" are cash deals — contact the owner, agree on price, pick up or ship. Tampa Piratest doesn't handle payments, shipping, or escrow. We run the board; you make the deal.
If a listing says "Sell or Swap," the owner is open to either — you pick the approach when you reach out.
A Tampa Swap Board With a Point of View
Tampa Piratest started as a pirate-culture brand, and the swap board leans into that — treasure, loot, trade, crew. But this isn't a costume. It's a real board for buying, selling, and swapping the stuff Tampa people actually move: sports tickets, event gear, boating and fishing equipment, collectibles, costumes, and local gear.
Better than the generic flea-market sites because it's Tampa-first, curated, and has a brand behind it — not a firehose of every listing on earth with no point of view. Small and real beats big and hollow.
Listings are reviewed before they go up. Items should be local to the Tampa Bay area and honestly described. Tampa Piratest runs the board — we don't handle payments, shipping, or the deals themselves.
